Mike Jenkins

CEO and Board President

Mike started a career in Industry but received his teaching BA MA degree from Huntington College and IU in 1969 thereafter beginning a teaching (Social Studies, 36 years)) and coaching (Baseball-4 years, Football- 22 years, and Basketball-22 years) at Hamilton Heights High School. Was Youth Minister (’71-’89) and Elder (’71-’16) at Cicero Christian Church. Served on numerous Boards ie., Classroom Teachers, Elder, Missions, Ryan White Memorial, Public Library, Christian School and HOPE Family Care center, to name a few, in various officer positions. Mike has been affiliated with HOPE since its inception in 2003.

Mike is married to Judith (McKinley) for 57 years. They have three children, Beth, Christy and Todd. 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Mike enjoys coin collecting, mentoring, teaching, and helping people get the resources they need to have a better quality of life. He enjoys following his grandchildren (and great) as well as golfing when he can. Would like to fish more.

Jana Swanson

Clinic Director

Jana is certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and graduated in 1993 from IU School of Nursing at IUPUI. She is currently employed full time with Ascension St Vincent Medical Group.

Jana has been the clinic director of Hope Family Care Center since 2014, and was a Board Member of Hope Family Care Center in good standing until she took on the role as the clinic director.

Jana had 3 years of experience working in the Emergency Room at St Vincent 86th street, and has many years of experience in primary care since then.

Jana enjoys working with patients and try to help them improve their health status with each visit.

Barb Green

Office Manager

Barb has gifts in office management, accounting, operations management and supervision. She has a background as Office Manager in a nursing home. ex She has experience as an Assistant Vice Present and Deposit Operations person in banking. Responsibilities have included processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank deposits, balancing monthly bank accounts, billing, payments, collections, ordering supplies, financial reports to Presidents and CEO’s, Directors, and State of Indiana daily/monthly quarterly and annual reports. Other responsibilities include duties in record retention, event coordinator, maintaining resident files, keeping appointments and volunteering at events.

Barb’s places of employment have been Metro Bank/First Indiana Bank as Assistant Vice President of Operations in Noblesville Indiana; Stewart Title Guaranty Company as Agency Coordinator/Administrative Assistant in Indianapolis; Millers Merry Manor as Office manager in Tipton and 6 years as Office Manager at Hope Family Care Center.

Suzi Fisher

Volunteer Coordinator
Suzi began her career at Eli Lilly- Greenfield IN in 1981 as an analytical bench tech, after she received a A.A.S degree in Ag-business from Vincennes University. After Eli Lilly and Dow’s merger, Her family moved from Greenfield, IN to Cicero, IN in 1992. She retired from DowAgroSciences in 2015 from the Analytical Sciences Regulatory group.

Suzi and her husband Mark just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They have one daughter -Audrey and her husband Ben Lehman and grandchildren Faith (10) and Caleb(7)

She and Mark have attended Cicero Christian Church since 1996.

She has been with HFCC since January 2016.

She enjoys gardening, helping to take care of their 5 horses and 2 dogs and spending time with family.

Board of Directors

The center is overseen by a volunteer Governing Board made up of community members having expertise in a number of professional areas. This Board meets monthly to determine center policies, make operational recommendations, and help raise funds to sustain HOPE’s ongoing work.

Board members are actively engaged in a variety of fund-raising events. In addition to planning and approving the events, they actively staff the events to establish connections with members of the community and promote the services of the clinic.
